I STAND BEFORE YOU is an all time favorite for me. I fell in love with Chase & Kay immediately and I can honestly say NEVER DOUBT ME is the perfect follow up to the first book in the Judge Me Not series. Both characters were instantly likable. The flaws that each character had made them more real and made their relationship even stronger. They both had struggles to overcome and they did. Chase and Kay fit perfectly together and you see that play out in both books because they honestly seek redemption in each other.

In NEVER DOUBT ME everything seems to be going well for Chase and Kay. Well that is until they have some unexpected house guests and this begins the tumultuous cycle of secrets and bad decisions. Chase is trying desperately to be the man Kay deserves and needs but with Will in the mix things seem to get more and more complicated for Chase. It’s like his past is there just out of sight taunting him and waiting for him to slip so it can all come crashing down around him. There commitment and entire relationship is tested in inconceivable ways. You will be hooked and you will not want to put this book down until it’s finished.

The chemistry between Chase and Kay is amazing. You can see it and feel it throughout this entire novel. It’s indescribable and it is well…it is amazing. Their love is so raw that it makes your heart hurt because you want something so sincere…so real.

Overall, This book is definitely a 5 star story. It was written beautifully and the pace is perfect. The characters are very well-developed and Ms. Grey makes you want them as friends. You will seriously think about these characters way after you have finished the book. I don’t think I will ever get enough of Chase and Kay. Waiting for the next installment is going to kill me!!!

It kind of hurts me to give this story such few stars since I loved Judge Me Not so much. This story just felt sort of incomplete to me. Honestly I'm not even sure why this story was written. There was very little drama for Kay and Chase since most of it it surrounded Chase's brother Will. The tension that did exist between Kay and Chase was manufactured at the end to create a reason to read book three. It felt more like a really long extended epilogue showing real life following an HEA than a story continuation. Not much happened leaving me not really wanting to read or even feeling like I need to read the final book in the trilogy. If it wasn't already on my , I don't know that I would bother reading book three at all.
“Never Doubt Me” – the second in the Judge Me Not series picks up about 10 minutes after “I Stand Before You” ends. Chase, our misfit heart throb with a checkered past, has found Kay – a woman with her own scars to wear and a heart that has known its own pain. Together they are stronger than they are alone, each making the other want to be better. This relationship, so strong yet new, is tested quickly when Will, Chase’s younger brother, shows up unannounced on Chase’s farm with his girlfriend, Carrie, in tow.

Will idolized Chase when they were younger, his dreams were wrapped around Chase’s words and illustrated with his pen and paper. When Chase went away to prison, and then moved to Ohio instead of joining Will and his mother in Las Vegas once he was released…. It changed something for Will. The pain and betrayal of not having his brother there is a pain that Chase is confronted with in a different type of ‘coming of age’ tale.

Written with all the emotion and raw honesty of its prequel, this novel continues the romance between Chase and Kay while exploring deeper issues surrounding familial trust, brotherly love, suicide, abuse and moving on. Intense and insightful, S. R. Grey pens a story that pulled on my soul – the love between Chase and Kay is palpable, a solid force that reassures the reader even as the characters, themselves, question.

I would strongly recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys romance novels, modern romance novels, modern fiction, recovery stories, redemption, and anyone that enjoys a well written book.
I tend to run hot and cold with the romance genre. I love it, don’t get me wrong. In fact, I more than love it, it’s my go-to genre when I need a bit of escape or a bit of cheering up. But one thing that annoys me sometimes are cardboard cut-out characters or relationship portrayals that that exhibit all of the spice and passion a relationship can bring without any of the compromise, or tests (both from outside forces and within) a relationship faces. I guess you can say I like a dose of believability in my reading – I want to be able to relate to the protagonists in some way (i.e. navigating the human condition).

Believability is something S.R. Grey does very well, both with Never Doubt Me and its predecessor I Stand Before You. Her two main characters Chase and Kay are entirely relatable. Neither are perfect cardboard cut-outs, in fact both had to overcome a rather troubling past, but admirable nonetheless for their ability to love despite it all, and their perseverance. What I also loved in Never Doubt Me is that now that Chase and Kay are established, the outside world in the form of Chase’s brother inevitably intrudes and here is where Chase’s strength and Kay’s healing is truly put to the test. Will old habits suck Chase under again? Can Kay remain the bedrock that Chase needs when not too long ago she needed one herself? More than just spice and passion, which between the two is scorching, we see a dynamic that allows them function as a team in every sense of the word.

This is romance done right and a great, intriguing, captivating read. I highly recommend it!
